SENDGUARD>FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

The following are the main questions asked by SendGuard users. Please e-mail us at support@addins4outlook.com if your question is not answered below or for more information visit our Knowledge Base .
 


When I enter the name and the unlock code SendGuard tells me Registration Unsuccessful. What do I do?

This may be due to one of the following reasons:
  1. Incorrect name and/or unlock code
    Make sure that the name and unlock code is typed exactly as shown in your original e-mail. Pay particular attention to spaces and capital letters. Also try to actually type it in instead of cutting and pasting. On some computers we have found that pasting adds some hidden characters.

  2. You are using Pocket PC/Palm device and /or Outlook is open
    Before installing SendGuard make sure that you unplug any Pocket PC/Palm device if you are using one. Also ensure that Outlook is closed. To do this, do   the following:

    (If you are using a Pocket PC) Disconnect your Pocket PC from your computer.
    Restart your computer.
    If you are not using a Pocket PC, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and click Task Manager.
    Click Processes tab and make sure that Outlook.EXE is not running.

  3. When typing in the numbers, don't use the number keypad off to the right of your keyboard, because they are sometimes interpreted as different characters and it will not be accepted, although it may look right to you.

I do not see the Addins4Outlook--> SendGuard menu in Outlook?

SendGuard may be disabled by Outlook. To re-enable SendGuard:
  1. Start Outlook
  2. Select Help - About Microsoft Office Outlook
  3. Click Disabled Items button
  4. Select SendGuard
  5. Click Enable

If the above does not solve your problem, Check to see that SendGuard is installed properly:

  1. Start Outlook
  2. Click Tools - Options
  3. Click Other tab
  4. Click on the Advanced Options button
  5. Click on Com-Addins button
  6. Verify that SendGuard is on the list, and it should be ticked.
  7. If SendGuard is not ticked, then do so.

   If your problem is unsolved try reinstalling SendGuard

I do not get notified to select an Account when sending e-mails anymore. How can I configure SendGuard to display this message every time?

To configure SendGuard to display a message when sending an e-mail:
  1. Open Outlook

  2. Go to your Inbox

  3. On the menu, click Addins4Outlook - SendGuard.

  4. Click Settings. The SendGuard Settings screen will open.

  5. On the Send Account tab, under "Action SendGuard will take when sending using a NON-Preferred Account", choose the option "Notify me and let me choose the preferred account".

  6. A message will be displayed to select an account each time you send an e-mail.

I do not get a message automatically, asking to add any new e-mail address to the SendGuard List.

You will not get a message if SendGuard is configured to NOT display a message to add e-mail address to SendGuard list. To configure SendGuard to display this message:
  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to your Inbox
  3. On the menu, click Addins4Outlook - SendGuard.
  4. Click Settings. The SendGuard Settings screen will open.
  5. On the Send Account tab, under "How to set Preferred Accounts", choose the option "Automatically display option to add address to list if I am using an address not in the list".

Which version (s) of Microsoft Outlook does SendGuard support?

SendGuard works with Outlook 2000, 2002/XP, 2003 and 2007. It does not work with Outlook Express. Some features are not fully supported in Outlook 2000 and 2002
  • Outlook 2000: Account Guard not supported. Automatic Email Account Detection not supported
  • Outlook 2002: Account Guard not supported
